Pakistan is likely to get AIM-120 advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles (AMRAAM) from the United States, as relations between the two countries seem to be getting better. Pakistan has also been included in 35 missile buyers in a recently notified contract notified by the US War Department (DOW), which was previously known as the Defense Department.

Pakistan among AIM-120 AMRAAM buyers
According to a news published in the newspaper ‘Express Tribune’, Pakistan’s name is also among the buyers of AIM-120 AMRAAM in a recently notified arms contract by the US War Ministry (DOW). The notification states “In this contract, Britain, Poland, Pakistan, Germany, Finland, Australia, Romania, Qatar, Oman, Korea, Greece, Switzerland, Portugal, Singapore, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Japan, Slovakia, Denmark, Canada, Belgium, Bahreen, Saudi, Italy, Norway, Norway, Norwegian, Kupeet, Foreland, Sweden, Taiwan, Lithuania, Israel, Bulgaria, Hungary and Turkey include foreign military sales. ”

Although it is not clear how many new AMRAM missiles will be given to Pakistan, but due to this news, the Pakistani Air Force’s F-16 fleet is being discussed.It further states that the work order is likely to be completed by May 30, 2030.
This came a few days after President Donald Trump’s meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Army Chief Aseem Munir, in which Trump once again claimed his role in ending the recent military conflict between Islamabad and Delhi.
Upgradation of Pakistan’s F-16 jet aircraft?
This has given air to speculation about the possible upgradation of the F-16 fleet of the Pakistani Air Force. According to the Express Tribune report, Amraam is only compatible with the F-16 fighter aircraft of the Pakistani Air Force. It was reportedly used in a struggle with India in February 2019.
