7 October 2001, it was the day when an ordinary volunteer was sworn in as Chief Minister in the courtyard of Gujarat Legislative Assembly. Narendra Modi’s political journey started from there, which has become the most decisive, most influential leadership story of Indian politics after 25 years today. Prime Minister Modi not only remembered the past in his social media message on the occasion, but also reiterated his dream of “developed India”. He wrote – “With the blessings of the people, I am entering my 25th year of service as the head of the government. Every effort has been to reach the last person of the country.”
If seen, in 2001, Modi, who led the leadership of Gujarat, made that state a model of industry, infrastructure and administrative reforms. After 2002, the rapid development of Gujarat started discussing the “Gujarat model” across the country. Today India has become the fifth largest economy in the world and is calling it “Global Bright Spot” till the World Bank, IMF, and the World Economic Forum.
In addition, one of the most notable achievements of the Modi era has been India’s aggressive but balanced foreign policy. Prime Minister Modi gave India’s voice a new prestige on international forums. The successful host of the G20 summit brought India to the center of ‘world faith’. India’s role in the Indo-Pacific strategy and the quad alliance is now decisive. Amidst the Russia-Ukraine war, Modi’s message of “this is not the era of war” has become an example of global diplomacy today. In addition, India has strengthened not only business but also cultural and human relations in Africa, Gulf countries and South Asia. The specialty of Modi’s foreign policy is that he adapted the philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ into modern diplomacy – where India neither bends in front of anyone nor bends anyone.
