A local BJP leader was shot dead near his residence in Brahmapur, Odisha late on Monday night.Police sources said that the deceased has been identified as a member and advocate Paitabas Panda, a member of the Odisha State Bar Council.According to the preliminary police report,This incident took place outside his residence in Brahmagar,At around 10 pm, two motorcycle -riding attackers opened fire on Panda near his residence. He was immediately rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Brahmapur, where doctors declared him dead.

BJP leader was also a member of Odisha State Bar Council
Petabas pandaOdisha was also a member of the Bar Council. He was earlier associated with Congress. According to the police, when he was standing on the roadside, two bike riders shot him closely. Police said that the motive behind the attack is still being investigated. Hearing the news of the attack, the state’s Commerce and Transport Minister Vibhuti Bhushan Jena, along with several BJP leaders, condemned the incident.
Police started investigation
Local police have started extensive investigation into the murder, forensic teams have been deployed and CCTV footage is being investigated. Officers are suspected of the involvement of organized criminal elements and they are examining potential political or professional objectives behind the attack.

Senior officials have assured that every effort is being made to catch the culprits as soon as possible. Security has been increased in the area and BJP leaders from across the state have condemned the murder and demanded justice and intensive investigation.

Panda was a respected person in Brahmapur, who was known for his legal skills and active role in regional politics. His sudden demise has produced a void in both the BJP’s local leadership and the legal fraternity.
