The dead number has increased to 14 after several more bodies were recovered from the debris in a school building collapse in Indonesia. Many students are still missing and the number of dead is expected to increase. Rescuers have been engaged in rescue operations since the building collapsed on Monday.
On Thursday, heavy machinery was used to remove debris after no one was indicated to be alive. On Friday evening, rescuers found nine bodies, after which the death toll increased to 14. About 50 students are missing.

According to Suharyanto, head of Indonesia’s National Disaster Control Agency, two bodies were found near the prayer hall on Friday while a body was found near the exit gate. Surahyanto told reporters that rescue work is expected to be completed by Saturday night.
