Patna. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Shri Samrat Chaudhary said that an important project of development and upgradation of Muzaffarpur Airport has been approved. Under this project, the existing airport will be made eligible for code-2B category aircraft. Under this, pre-Phab steel structure-based terminal building, pre-engineered air traffic control (ATC) tower, pre-engineered fire fighting center and other subsidiary buildings and facilities will be constructed.

This entire work will be done on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) mode. The estimated cost of the project has been fixed at Rs 28.58 crore. The duration of construction work has been fixed at 11 months, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has started an online e-tender process for the project.
Mr. Chaudhary said- Upgradation of Muzaffarpur Airport is an extension of air service in North Bihar. This will give new pace to regional contact, investment and tourism. Also, the people of North Bihar will also create modern and better air services, new employment opportunities for local youth. This step will give Bihar a new height in the aviation sector and will play an important role in the economic and social development of the state.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Chaudhary said that the double engine government under the leadership of Kendra’s Modi and Nitish Kumar in the state is continuously working to make air service world class in Bihar. Recently, where the folk hero Jayaprakash Narayan Airport of Patna has been rejuvenated, Gaya Airport has also been upgraded. People of Bihar are getting the benefit of air service for different parts of the country from Darbhanga and Purnia Airport under the flight scheme in the state. And now in this episode, the development of Muzaffarpur Airport will deliver it to new height.
