Madurai Peeth of Madras High Court reprimanded the Tamilga Vatri Kazhagam (TV) leaders in connection with the Karur stampede, saying that the party chief Vijay “fled from the spot” and the party did not regret it. The court strongly condemned such conduct, especially when women and children died. The court said that it reflects the “mental state” of the actor-consentor. Justice Senthilkumar said that the stampede, in which 41 people lost their lives, were not properly handled and said that the state was softening towards victory.
Justice Senthilkumar questioned both the organizers and the police, questioning the responsibility that being a program organizer, do you not have any responsibility? ” The court resented up the softening of the state towards Vijay and said that he had “disappeared” from the spot at the time of the incident.

The bench ordered the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the chairmanship of Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Asra Garg to investigate the incident, while the order on advance bail petitions filed by TVK leaders Bussi Anand and CTR Nirmal Kumar preserved the order on advance bail petitions. The state argued that the stampede party had argued with the conduct of his workers and said that the leaders were behaved as an irresponsible. The bench said that 41 innocent people died due to a large man -made disaster. At the same time, the bench said that the court cannot close its eyes, cannot become mute spectators or escape its responsibilities.

The bench said that the whole world has seen the order and results of this incident. Citing the video footage, the bench said the two -wheelers were trapped under the TVK bus, yet the driver did not stop the bus despite seeing all this. Is this not a case of hit and run? He asked the police, “Why was the hit and run a case not registered? Why did the police not take cognizance of it?”
