Former Indian spinner R Ashwin did not find any buyer in the ILT20 Season 4 Auction. He entered the ILT20 auction with a base price of $ 120,000, the highest among the registered players, but was disappointed with the developments. However, Ashwin has committed for the entire season in the Big Bash League and will play all the matches of Sydney Thunder.
Ashwin told Cricbuzz that, this was the price that I wanted minimum and if my price is not fulfilled then I am happy to not play at this stage of my career. There was always a possibility of being selected in the next round but decided not to play further.
Apart from this, Ashwin agreed to play the entire season of Big Bash League. He initially signed a contract for a short term which included some league matches and playoffs. But now he has increased his contract to be available for the entire tournament.
BBL will run from 14 December to 25 January this year. Ashwin believes that during the ILT20 auction he was not getting the desired price, due to which he decided to withdraw from the auction.
During this, he said about BBL that, due to the deal with Thunder, I was going to withdraw the name a few days before the auction but since I had already promised to participate in the auction for ILT20, I made my promise. However, I did not agree to reduce my base value.
