PM Modi paid tribute to Bapu-Shastri, said- India will be strong and developed by his values

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday went to Rajghat on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and paid floral tribute to him. On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the Prime Minister said that the ideals of the Father of the Nation changed the direction of human history. In a post on social media X, the Prime Minister said that Gandhiji showed how courage and simplicity can become a means of great change. He considered the power of service and compassion to be an essential means of empowering people. He further said, “We will continue to follow the path given to him in our efforts to build a developed India.”

Born on October 2, 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, also known as Mahatma Gandhi, was a pioneer of non -violent resistance. Through his philosophy of non -violence and Satyagraha, he inspired millions of Indians to participate in the freedom struggle against British colonial rule. A few months after India’s independence, Mahatma Gandhi was killed by Nathuram Godse on 30 January 1948, New Delhi in Gandhi Smriti. His life and sacrifice are remembered around the world as a symbol of peace and human dignity.

Prime Minister Modi paid tribute to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri at Vijay Ghat on his birth anniversary. He described him as an extraordinary politician whose honesty, humility and determination strengthened India. The Prime Minister said, “He embodied exemplary leadership, strength and decisive action. His call for ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’ raised a sense of patriotism among our people. They will continue to inspire us in the attempt to build a strong and self -sufficient India.”

Shastri ji was born in 1904 in Uttar Pradesh and became the Prime Minister of the country after the death of Jawaharlal Nehru. In his short tenure as Prime Minister, when India was fighting the war with Pakistan, his honesty and the leadership of the country granted him universally. A highly affected Shastri ji became Prime Minister by getting out of an ordinary family and was widely acclaimed for his simplicity, honesty and ability to connect with the general public. Their heritage keeps India inspired towards self -reliance and progress.
