To meet the lack of police staff, the Punjab government has decided to recruit 3,400 new constables. In addition, the 1,600 posts will be filled with promotion. It will include 150 inspectors, 450 sub-inspectors (SI) and a 1,000 Assistant sub-inspector (ASI).
In addition, 4,500 additional posts will be filled in the districts. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav has issued orders in this regard and said the recruitment process will start soon.
Also held an online meeting with senior police officers and discussed the future plans. Thousands of posts are being recruited from the constables in Punjab Police. Preparations have started and the recruitment process will start soon.
The DGP of Punjab ordered the police officers to develop a special plan to maintain peace during the festival season. He said that the scorpuring action would be taken against gangsters and anti-vocal elements. He also said that if a police officer is captured in corruption, he would never be forgiven.

Recruitment is in 4 stages: The Punjab Police Cops has several main stages in the constable processing process. First, the candidates should apply online on the official website of the Punjab Police. Then they give the computer-based test (CBT) that is taken into two parts: paper I and paper II.
Paper II requires 50 per cent points: paper I is evaluated with the common knowledge and other topics of Punjabi candidates, when the paper II is required to pass the Punjabi language.
Figurous Screening Test: CBT passing candidates are called for physical measurement test (PST) and physical screening tests (PST), which includes physical activities like their heights, breasts, breastfeeding.
Real Certificates Verification: The candidates who passed both the stages is then called for document verification (DV) where all their original certificates are verified.
Recruitment of 1,800 police personnel in January
The Punjab Police recruit about 1,800 policemen each year. The recruitment process begins in January. The whole process is conducted online, after which is a written test and physical examination.
During this time, young people are sent to train. Efforts are made to ensure that these youngsters go to force before January. This process is running regularly for the last three years.
