The attack on the 57 -year -old bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the famous Tavistock Square in London is not just the incident of damaging an idol, but it is a shock to Gandhi’s existence, his thoughts and the soul of India. Tampering with the Gandhi statue, it is written blackly, ‘Gandhi-Modi, Hindustani Terrorist….’ A tricolor has also been insulted there and it is also written on ‘Terrorist’. The time when this attack took place is also very symbolic, just three days before the International Gandhi Jayanti i.e. Ahimsa Day. It is a selection of time that indicates that there is a well -planned mentality and conspiracy to eradicate the idea of non -violence and Gandhi’s personality. Gandhi’s statue is not just a metal structure, but is a vibrant symbol of those values which gave a new vision to not only India but the whole world, gave a new direction and have given peaceful non -violent lifestyle. Shocking on this is a proof that the trends of violence, the mentality of terror and the destructive powers of hatred and hatred are still afraid of Gandhi’s thoughts and conspiracy to mutilate and demolish him, but Mahatma Gandhi is the only great men of India who cannot shoot any bullet or abuses. Gandhi’s politics and religion were not the power, it was service, service, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. His goal was to provide fear to the public and real freedom. They are the immortal heritage of complete humanity. He created a peaceful world-structure by giving the world a formula of non-violence. Metropolitan police is engaged in investigation. Describing the incident as tragic, Britain’s High Commissioner Lindi Cameron said that Gandhi’s teachings will always unite us. This incident of hurting Gandhi’s personality and ideas is not only limited to the existence and identity of Britain, but also challenges India’s dignity and its cultural presence. When the universal symbol of a nation is attacked, it is considered an attack on the self -respect and its thoughts of that nation. Gandhi is not only the hero of India, but the moral guide of the whole world. Their memorial damaged is an attempt to tarnish the consciousness of humanity which is based on dialogue, tolerance, non -violence and peace. At a time when the world is plagued by war, terror and bigotry, Gandhi’s idea becomes even more relevant. The attempt to crush such an idea is a serious challenge not only for India but for the whole world. From a critical point of view, this incident makes us think why universal values like non -violence seem unbearable in today’s era? Why are some groups intent on eradicating history and establishing violence instead of dialogue? It is not only an attack on the memory of the past, but also raises questions on the direction of the future. If the idols are broken, they can be corrected, but if this process of fragmentation continues, it will prove fatal to the soul of humanity.

From time to time, mischievous and anti-social elements have been throwing mud on the great personalities of India-Gandhi-Modi’s philosophy and their functions in the country and the world and have been proud by abusing them. The incident of breaking the fresh Gandhi statue is not a result of any simple mischief or local dissatisfaction, but it is a symbol of that deep violent, terrorist and distorted mindset that wants to suppress the voice of non -violence in the world. The attack on the Gandhi statue is virtually a repetition of the same mentality that he murdered. Today, this mentality sometimes comes to the form of religious extremism, sometimes racial discrimination, sometimes terrorism and sometimes economic imperialism. This incident is a serious warning for not only India, but the whole world that if the voice of non -violence and coexistence is silenced, human civilization can go into the darkness of violence, terror and destruction.
The way Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tried to distinguish the tradition of peace, global cooperation and non -violent dialogue on the world stage in the past years, it is a modern expression of Gandhi philosophy. This role of India becomes even more important in the world struggling with international conflicts, climate crisis, terrorist cruelty and war rage. In such a situation, the attack on the Gandhi statue is actually an organized effort to hurt this peace campaign. This is a challenge not only to India, but to all those countries and communities, which consider non -violence as the basic mantra of civilization. Today it is important that we give a befitting reply to this violent and terrorist mindset. This answer will have to be given not only by opposition or resentment, but also by living and spreading Gandhi’s ideas more strongly. Whenever the Gandhi statue has been hurt, Gandhi has stood up and grown up. Sometimes not praise, such abuses have been making Gandhi more revered. Just as Gandhi said- “You can kill me, destroy my body, but cannot eliminate my thoughts”-This truth is equally relevant today. Actually, every attempt to crush non -violence makes non -violence more powerful. This attack is a proof of Gandhi’s immortality. We should spread the message of Gandhi’s truth, love and tolerance on a wide scale by not limited to condemnation only. Only then the terrorist mentality will get a real and permanent answer.
Gandhi has been standing in the dock for how many years. Gandhi did not eat less abuses after winning and dying. Godse hit his body with a bullet, but today his thoughts are being killed again and again. The disciples of Mahatma, Bapu’s sons, the saint’s followers and Gandhi’s party have sold them frequently, earned them, have asked for votes in his name, got power, cheated in the morning and evening and hide their stains from their sheets. But enough is enough, now it is necessary that the opposition to this incident is not only at the emotional or formal level but in solid, moral and effective form. Today, Gandhi needs to find not in the idols, but in his life and conduct. This is the biggest message that came out of this incident that non -violence will be protected not only from monuments but from behavior. The erosion of Gandhi’s statue is transient, but if we let his thoughts be killed, it will be the defeat of the entire humanity. The statue of Gandhiji in London was unveiled in 1968 in collaboration with the India League. This place has been the center of main attraction for a long time on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti in the UK. Every year on 2 October, tribute to flowers is paid here and the favorite hymns of Gandhiji are played. This day is also celebrated as International Non -Violence Day, which is recognized by the United Nations. It is written on its platform- ‘Mahatma Gandhi, 1869-1948’. He has a historic relationship with London, where he studied law at University College London.
