The relations between India and the United States have become tense after Trump has imposed 50 percent tariff on Indian goods as well as raising closeness with Pakistan. This rift increased when Trump targeted India’s energy relations with Moscow, especially Russian crude oil imports. Trump has repeatedly criticized India to continue buying oil from Russia, and warned that such purchases would weaken international efforts to pressurize Moscow to end the war in Ukraine.
