Need for cooperative solution for human-livelihood struggle in Wayanad: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra

Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday described the human-wildlife struggle in Wayanad as a “complex problem”, which requires a cooperative approach to resolve.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra posted a post on the social media platform ‘X’ in which she mentioned her visit to Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary in Wayanad earlier this month.

He said that he met the veterinarian Dr. Arun Zakaria, whose knowledge is invaluable on wildlife, forest and related issues. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, the experience of her and forest officials is important in understanding and managing animal-human struggle in this field. A part of this effort is to train and use Kumki elephants who drive wild elephants when they enter human settlements. ‘

Sharing a video of his conversation with forest officials, he said, “The human-pester struggle in Wayanad is a complex problem for which we all have to work together and find practical solutions.” Priyanka stayed in her constituency from September 11 to September 22.
