1965 Diamond Jubilee of War Victory: Salutations to the martyrs, remembrance of Shaurya saga in real north

The Golden Arrow Division on Tuesday celebrated the diamond birth anniversary of the victory of the Army in the 1965 Indo-Pakistan War of Punjab in the real north of Punjab under the Vajra Corps of the Indian Army. According to the Government of India, Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria was the chief guest of this birth anniversary celebrations. On this occasion, Western Command General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar and other military commanders, war giants, brave women, dignitaries, students and local citizens participated in large numbers.

The statement said that the memory paid tribute to the brave soldiers of the real north and Barki battle, whose indomitable courage and supreme sacrifice drew the 1965 war stance in favor of India. During the birth anniversary, special tributes were paid to the company quarter master Havildar Abdul Hameed, Paramveer Chakra (posthumously). His unique bravery in destroying the tanks of advanced enemy and their supreme sacrifice will continue to inspire future generations.

In his address, the Governor thanked the Indian Army for the unwavering commitment of the country’s sovereignty and the protection of India’s glorious military heritage. He said that the inauguration of ‘Archives-cum-Sangrahalaya’ and ‘Hamid Gallery’ will not only immortal the heroes of 1965, but will also become a source of education/knowledge and inspiration for the coming generations. He also praised the Army and Indian National Art and Cultural Heritage Trust (INTACH) for the initiative to promote border tourism and strengthen the relationship between citizens and soldiers.

The statement said that the Governor underlined the trust in the future challenge, whether traditional or emerging, underlined the faith in the Indian Army. He confirmed that as India is moving forward in the era of Amrit period, the army will play an important role in ensuring national security, promoting unity and motivating the youth to the service of the nation with courage, discipline and loyalty. During the program, war giants and brave women were honored in honor of their sacrifice. Archives-cum-colors were inaugurated as a permanent store of the 1965 war, which preserves stories of history, artifacts and valor for future generations.
