India has established itself with its strength and increasing economic strength on the global platform. But recently the US imposed 50 % tariffs on India which caused tension in business relations between the two countries. This step was taken by the US because it argues that India is buying oil and weapons from Russia and by doing so, it is supporting Russia in Ukraine crisis. However, a big statement of Finland has also come out on this issue. Finland has given its response against this strict US policy. Finland President Allenxander Stub, who is considered a close friend of US President Trump. He had already advised America that more respect and cooperation should be adopted with important global partners like India.

Stub warned America that if a strict policy towards countries like India is adopted, it could prove to be harmful to the interests of America. Now supporting this advice, Finland Foreign Minister Elina Waltonein made a statement. The Foreign Minister of Finland said that Europe currently rejects the possibility of imposing secondary tariffs on India. Even if America is insisting on this. He also informed that the European Union is strictly implementing Russian sanctions. But these restrictions are directly focused on Russia and not on India or any other countries.

The Foreign Minister of Finland said that Russia’s crude oil imports in Europe have been reduced by 90 percent. We appreciate India’s role in efforts to ignite the restrictions, and since India is buying oil from Russia, it is trying to do so within the oil price range. It is very important that we can prevent Russia from getting income for its war machinery. And so it should also be in India’s interest in geopolitical context, but of course, in the context that if you live within the oil price range you will not have to pay too much.
