Karur stampede should be investigated with SC judge! BJP delegation raises great demand, meet injured victims

The eight-member delegation of NDA-BJP visited the hospital in Karur on Tuesday where those injured in a stampede on September 27 are undergoing treatment. The tour is part of the delegation’s fact-khoj campaign after a tragic incident during a public event organized by Tamilga Vatri Kazhagam (TVK) chief and actor Vijay, in which 41 people lost their lives. Before reaching the hospital, the delegation formed by BJP National President JP Nadda visited the stampede site and interacted with eyewitnesses.

BJP MP Hema Malini said that this is a very terrible and biggest stampede. This had never happened before in the history of politics … The administration should have focused on it, but they failed to do so… People also feel very bad about it. I went to the place where there was a stampede. It was very sad to see such a situation… Who is responsible for all this, we want to know … We have now come to the hospital to see the injured. They are recovering … It should not be very sad to see this, it should not be … Vijay should have seen that if he is so popular, he should not invite so many people.

BJP MP Anurag Thakur said who is responsible? It should be investigated freely and fair. We believe that the current judge of the Supreme Court should investigate the matter and there should be an independent and fair investigation by the current judge of the Supreme Court so that the truth can be revealed. The delegation includes BJP MPs Hema Malini, Aparajita Sarangi, Anurag Thakur, Tejashwi Surya, Braj Lal, Rekha Sharma, Srikanth Shinde (Shiv Sena) and Putta Mahesh Kumar (Telugu Desam Party). BJP MP Hema Malini is the convenor of the committee.

Eyewitnesses told the delegation the full story of the stampede. An eyewitness claimed that TV leader Aadhv Arjun approached actor Vijay during the program and told him that people were fainting due to mob pressure. In response, water bottles were reportedly thrown from the vehicle on the crowd. Eyewitnesses told the delegation that TVK’s half went to Arjun Vijay and said that people were fainting. They immediately started throwing water bottles from the vehicle … The local administration failed … The road was 19 feet deep and the vehicle was 12 feet deep … After the commotion started, they finished their speech and went away. Vijay remained present for 10 minutes.
