Indian players will join hands with Pakistan team in the Women’s World Cup? ICC protocol can be caused

There were more political controversies between India and Pakistan during the recent men’s Asia Cup. The matter is still not calm. Actually, Indian players did not join hands with Pakistani players throughout the tournament. After which there was protest against the match referee Andy Pycroft from Pakistan. A complaint was also made to the ICC. At the same time, the ICC had made it clear that the Asia Cup is a tournament with ACC rights. After this, now the Women’s World Cup is going to start, then a similar issue is coming out about the India-Pakistan match to be held on 5 October.
At the same time, the question arises whether the women’s team like the men’s team will not join hands with Pakistan players or will it have to do so due to the ICC protocol in this tournament?
If we talk about the rules, then there is no such rule that after the match, it is necessary to join hands with the players of one team. But this is done in view of the spirit of sports. When the atmosphere between India and Pakistan recently after Operation Sindoor was disturbed, the Indian men’s team captain Suryakumar Yadav also opposed it on the field. He did not join hands with the Pakistani team in all three matches during the Asia Cup 2025. At the same time, after the tournament, the trophy and medal from ACCC Chief and PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi were also not taken by the Indian team. But it was not the ICC tournament, so the ICC remained calm on the entire controversy.
Now if a similar dispute broke out in the Women’s ODI World Cup, then the protocol of ICC can come in the way of Indian principles.
There is no clear information on this matter nor many instructions have been given to the Indian women’s team or captain Harmanpreet Kaur. If she walks on the footsteps of Suryakumar Yadav in the World Cup and a complaint is made by Pakistan in the ICC, the ICC can also interfere in the matter.
