At least three people were killed and several others were injured in the violence between tribals and Bengali community over alleged gang rape of a tribal girl in the hilly areas of South-Eastern Bangladesh. The police have confirmed the death of three people, but have not stated their identity, while residents and eyewitnesses said that the two sides became violent and set fire to each other’s businesses and houses in the Khagrachhari hill district located on the motorway about 270 km from Dhaka.

Home Ministry expressed grief over violence

Why violence erupted in Dhaka
Violence erupted after the alleged gang rape of a student of eighth grade on Tuesday in Khagrachari district, one of the three mountainous districts of the Chittagong mountainous region bordering India and Myanmar.
