41 people killed in a stampede in actor-consignia Vijay rally, actor’s Chennai residence was threatened with bombing

He said that a 60 -year -old woman died in a hospital here. The injured woman succumbed to Karur Government Medical College Hospital, causing the total number of women who died to 18. Officials said 10 children and 13 men were also among the dead. The authorities have confirmed the identity of all the victims and the bodies have been handed over to their families. A day after the death of 41 people at TVK rally, actor-royalty Vijay’s residence in Chennai’s residence in Chennai threatened. The Chennai police received a phone call on Sunday claiming that the Tamilga Vatri Kazhagam (TVK) chief and actor Joseph Vijay’s residence at Nilakarai, ECR has been placed. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and deployed the bomb disposal squad. Experts conducted a thorough search inside and outside the house. After the incident, heavy security was deployed outside Vijay’s house. However, there has been no official confirmation of getting any dangerous item. The stampede at Vijay’s election rally in Karur has shook the entire state. So far, 41 people have lost their lives in this incident on Saturday evening. The dead include 18 women, 13 men, five girls and five children. Of these, 34 people were from Karur district, while two each from Erode, Tiruppur and Dindigul and one from Salem district. Many people fainted due to the huge crowd and were admitted to nearby hospitals.

Financial assistance for families suffering from Karur incident

After this tragic accident, Vijay expressed his deep condolences and announced financial assistance to the affected families. He announced financial assistance of Rs 20 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 2-2 lakh to the injured. Vijay expressed personal grief over the incident. He said that due to lack of security and management, political events should not have such incidents.

Petition in Madras High Court against Vijay’s party

On Sunday, the Madras High Court heard a petition seeking to stop Vijay’s party, TVK from organizing any public meeting, rally or program until the investigation of the Karur stampede. Justice N. Senthilkumar ordered an immediate hearing and directed the state government to respond. Vijay also filed a petition in the court, demanding a fair inquiry from the CBI or Special Investigation Team (SIT).
