Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt congratulated the popular Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh on being enrolled for her ‘International Amy Award’ for her performance in the acclaimed film ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film played the role of Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila, who was shot dead in 1988 at the age of 27.

Actress Parineeti Chopra also starred in this film. Dosanjh has been selected for the category of Best Actor. Also, the film has also been nominated in the TV film/mini-series category.Bhatt, who has worked with Diljit Dosanjh in the 2016 film ‘Udta Punjab’, said on ‘Instagram’ on Saturday, “Congratulations to the team included in Diljit Dosanjh and the team involved in this gem! Really shining very much. ”

In the Best Actor category, Dosanjh will compete with David Mitchell for ‘Ludwig’ (UK), Oriol Plas for ‘Yo, Edicto’ (Spain) and Diego Vaskej for ‘One Handred Year of Solitud’ (Colombia). The film ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ was released in April 2024 and the audience liked the film and its songs were also appreciated.
