Sonu Nigam awarded by National Lata Mangeshkar honor

The Government of Madhya Pradesh awarded the National Lata Mangeshkar Samman on Sunday in Indore, famous for his outstanding contribution in the field of smooth music. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav gave this honor to the corporation at his birthplace on the 96th birth anniversary of Mangeshkar.

At the honor ceremony, Chief Minister Yadav paid tribute to Mangeshkar and said, Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar, with his voice, brought Indian music to new heights. This honor given in his name is unique. This is a salutation of the contribution of the artists who have left an indelible mark in the field of song and music.

He said that the state government is feeling proud by honoring the corporation with Lata Mangeshkar ornamentation. On this occasion, in response to its honor, the corporation said in a passionate voice, Lata ji has been not just inspiration for us, but a living tradition of music. I feel blessed by getting this honor. This moment is one of the most special moments of my life.

The 52 -year -old playback singer said, “I came to Indore 30 years ago to perform at Lata Mangeshkar adornment ceremony, I am very proud to get this honor today at the same honor ceremony.”

Mangeshkar was born on 28 September 1929 in Indore. He breathed his last at the age of 92 on 6 February 2022 in Mumbai. The National Lata Mangeshkar honor established in the year 1984 is an annual decoration of the State Culture Department to encourage artistic superiority in the field of smooth music. In the past years, celebrities like Naushad, Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle have also been awarded this honor.
