US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik intensifies criticism on major trading partners, saying that countries like India and Brazil should give a ‘correct response’ to the US by opening their markets and avoiding policies that harm American interests.
In an interview to the newsination, Lutynik clearly said, ‘We have to fix many countries, such as Switzerland, Brazil and India. These are countries that need to give proper response to America. They have to open their markets and stop taking steps to harm America.

Lutynik told business policies ‘show off’
Lutnik’s comment further further his previous criticism of India’s trade and energy policies. A few days ago, he described India’s objection in business talks as ‘pretense’, which was in response to the fees levied by Donald Trump.
Speaking to Bloomberg, Lutynik predicted that New Delhi would return to the conversation table in ‘one or two months’. He said that Indian business would eventually pressurize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government to compromise with Washington, as ‘it does not seem good to fight the world’s biggest customer.’

Lutynik expressed displeasure over Russian oil purchasing
The American official has also strongly criticized the increasing purchase of Russian crude oil at concessional rates by India since the invasion of Ukraine. Describing the move as ‘sheer wrong’ and ‘ridiculous’, he emphasized that India would have to decide in which side it wants to live.
Lutnik reminded the business countries that America remains the largest consumer market in the world. He said, ‘Our 30 trillion dollar economy is the consumer of the world. So they have to come back to the customer, because we all know that the customer is always right. ‘
