Four teenagers killed due to mortar shell burst in northwest Pakistan

At least four teenagers were killed and two were seriously injured in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan on Saturday after an old mortar shell exploded. District officials gave this information.

The incident took place in Lagharai village of Mamond tehsil of Bajaur district bordering Afghanistan. Local residents said that the victims were inadvertently in contact with the equipment before the equipment exploded.

According to District Police Officer Wakas Rafiq, two teenagers who lost their lives in Saturday’s blasts were 18 years old and the other two were 15 and 13 years old. Officials said the injured were taken from Pakistani Army helicopters to Peshawar for emergency treatment. Security personnel have laid siege to the area and launched a search operation to detect and detect other possible shells.
