PM farmer 21st installment: 2000 rupees will come in the account before Diwali 2025? Learn the latest update

In an important development for the beneficiaries of the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan), the next installment of the scheme is expected to be released in October or November 2025. Although the government has not officially announced the date of release the next installment, speculation for the months of October or November is intensified as installments under the scheme have been historically been released every four months.

The 20th installment was released on August 2, 2025, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi transferred more than Rs 20,500 crore to 9.71 crore farmers from Varanasi. In Bihar alone, 75 lakh farmers got the benefit. Based on previous trends, the government usually releases this amount between August and November. In 2024, the 18th installment was released on 5 October. Assembly elections are going to be held soon in Bihar and the Election Commission is expected to announce the dates by the end of September, so the government can release the installment before the ideal code of conduct comes into force, which will increase the chances of getting farmers in the first fortnight of October.

Usually, when funds are released for the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, it is deposited simultaneously in the accounts of all the farmers across the country. However, this time, it is expected that flood affected states can get the installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi first. In fact, the central government recently indicated that the next installment would be released soon. In early September, Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised to release the advance installments of the plan after taking stock of floods and other disaster affected areas of Himachal and Punjab.

Meanwhile, according to Mint’s report, last week, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan promised to release a installment of the plan immediately after visiting the flood affected areas of Jammu. It has been hoped that farmers of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir may soon get their ₹ 2,000 installment. It is expected that this time the 21st installment will be released in the flood affected areas as a relief. If this happens, this amount will be deposited in their accounts before Diwali 2025, ie October 21.
