External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has said that today’s changing world needs a global workforce. He emphasized that the nation cannot escape the reality that the demand for a global work force in many countries cannot be met due to national demographics. His remarks have come amidst the strict stance of President Donald Trump on business and duty challenges as well as on immigration, including a new fee of US $ 100,000 on H-1B visas, mainly affecting Indian professionals.Indians are majority among the beneficiaries of these temporary work visas.

Immigration and trade challenges
Jaishankar’s remarks have come under the backdrop of global trade tension, tariff challenges and strict stance on US President Donald Trump’s immigration, including a new fee of US $ 1,00,000 on H-1B visa, which has a direct impact on Indian professionals. Jaishankar said that this reality demands international cooperation on workforce distribution.

Business finds its way despite obstacles
Highlighting the global trade flow, Jaishankar said that despite uncertainty, business always takes some way out. He said, “Today it is easy to do business due to physical and digital reasons, as today there are better roads, shipping and more smooth trade interfaces in human existence.” He further said that obstacles will continue to come, but they can be competed or reduced through progress in technology and connectivity.
Technology, connectivity and self -sufficiency
According to the minister, in the near future, the world is leading towards changes in technology, business, connectivity and workplaces. He said that in such a turbulent environment, it is very important for big countries to build capacity and become more self -sufficient. He further said that this focus is the centerpiece of India’s development strategy. Jaishankar also emphasized that multi -polarity should be created instead of accepting. Citing India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), he said, “There are many other societies that find the DPI’s Indian model far more assimilated, relevant and converted to the Indian model of European models or more digital lives.”
Uncertainty in global affairs
He said that uncertainty and instability have increased rapidly in recent years, and policy changes are now in global headlines. He said, “Time has changed. Let’s make a difference. Let’s make a difference for a few weeks.” Over the years, the global focus supply chain has focused on market accesses out of safety. Jaishankar said, “Therefore you are concerned about excessive dependence on markets in the same way that you are concerned about excessive dependence on supply or excessive dependence on connectivity.” He emphasized that today diplomacy means reducing risk, defending and making flexibility towards unexpected tremors. He added, “Today, the main issue of diplomacy is probably how you reduce the risk, how to rescue, how you become more flexible, and how to protect yourself from unexpected situations.”
