Slums burning in the fire and smoke flying in the sky.
A sudden fire broke out in the slums of migrant laborers on Sultanpur Lodhi Road in Kapurthala at around 12 noon on Saturday afternoon. The accident occurred due to sparking from the high voltage line in front of Dana Mandi Khaida Temple. Three fire brigade vehicles controlled the fire.

According to the information, the spark fell due to sparking from the high voltage line of 11000 watts and the fire took a formidable form. Seeing the flames, the workers escaped and saved their lives. Although there was no known loss in this accident, about 60 slums were completely burnt to ashes.

The goods and cash kept in the slums were also destroyed by burning. As soon as the information was received, three fire brigade vehicles from Rail Coach Factory, Sultanpur Lodhi and Kapurthala reached the spot. The fire personnel immediately started the rescue operation and after hard work, the fire was controlled.
