Yunus said that it is being described as an Islamic movement and it is being said that it is the same Taliban who has taken away Bangladesh, etc. and they have been trained to do this. Yunus revealed his approach to reviving SAARC and connecting South Asia to ASEAN, in which Bangladesh would serve as an important bridge for regional trade and maritime access. He stressed that his interim government is determined to hold an independent, fair and reliable elections in February 2025, which will show 12.6 crore Bangladeshi voters to be seen for 15 years without any real democratic process. Yunus’s words indicate a sharp diplomatic turn, where clear tension is being seen in the Indo-Bangladesh relations, which raise questions on the future of New Delhi’s support and regional cooperation towards Hasina.
