ED questioned Sonu Sood for seven hours in online betting app case

Actor Sonu Sood was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday in the money laundering case related to the online betting app ‘One X Bet’ for about seven hours. Officials said that Sonu Sood (52) reached the ED office in Central Delhi with his legal party at around 12 noon and came out at seven in the evening. He was questioned under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and his statement was recorded.

The ED investigation is related to the operation of the online betting platform ‘One X Bet’, which is accused of fraud and tax evasion of crores of rupees. According to the website of this app, it is registered in Kurasao and describes itself as a global ‘bookmaker’ with 18 years of experience.

It facilitates betting on sports events worldwide and its services are available in 70 languages. The main objective of the ED investigation is to know how and where and where they were paid.
