All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi has alone launching his campaign in the state’s Seemanchal region for the Bihar assembly elections. His party has not yet received any concrete reply regarding the alliance with the Indian National Development Embassies Alliance (India). In the 2020 elections, AIMIM contested 19 assembly seats and won five, they are all in Seemanchal region where the Muslim population is good. The region includes Purnia, Katihar, Kishanganj and Araria districts. In the Lok Sabha elections, AIMIM contested 15 seats in Bihar, but could not win a single seat.

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi said that his party’s Bihar unit chief Akhtarul Iman has written a letter to Tejashwi Yadav regarding a pre-possible alliance in Bihar. During a conversation with reporters in Kishanganj, Owaisi said that Akhtarul Iman told Yadav that AIMIM is ready to contest six out of 243 seats in the election to be held in November. The RJD is currently the main partner in this alliance, the Congress is second and many other parties are also involved in it. Speaking to news agency ANI, Owaisi said that Akhtarul Iman has written a letter to the Leader of Opposition (Tejashwi Yadav), and we have said through the media that AIMIM is ready for the alliance. Akhtarul Iman has also written that he can give us six seats. Owaisi said that we were ready to tie up with RJD. Will defeat RJD this time in Seemanchal.

It was not my weakness to offer an alliance with RJD. He further said that there is no leader of Muslims in Bihar, who can talk about society. Owaisi said that the father, who created this party, we wrote a letter to him. Asaduddin Owaisi is on a five -day justice tour in the Seemanchal region of Bihar from 23 to 27 September to unite the workers. Owaisi said that for the last 60 years, someone sitting in Patna was deciding the fate of the people of Seemanchal. But now this will not happen. The people of Seemanchal themselves will decide.

According to media reports, Owaisi will hold more than 24 public meetings in Muslim -dominated districts like Kishanganj, Araria, Katihar and Purnia. The campaign is expected to highlight the backwardness, illiteracy, unemployment and poverty of the region. The party’s internal sources said that Owaisi will first target the five constituencies won by AIMIM in 2020 to strengthen their base despite four MLAs joining the RJD in 2022.
