Former Home Minister of Gujarat Gordhanbhai Jhadafiyane, who was present as the chief guest at the event, said in his speech that I have studied in a rural school and after that I have dedicated myself to the nation after getting higher education, which credit goes to my teachers. Expressing concern towards rural areas, Gordhanbhain said that today the use of chemical fertilizers in education and agriculture in rural areas is a matter of concern. Due to technical lack, only 10% of the productive agriculture is happening in rural areas today. Due to large-scale migration, lack of industries, lack of employment etc. from rural areas to urban areas, the rural areas of our country are still in underdeveloped state and for this, various NGOs as well as the government need to take effective steps to revolutionize, and we all have to make efforts. To develop rural areas, if the dairy industry, cottage industry, natural farming, agro -based industries are developed on a small scale, then a fixed price can be enhanced, migration from rural areas to urban areas will be reduced and remote villages of the country can also be developed. World Teachers’ Day is celebrated in India on 5 September every year in memory of President Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. In the year 1962, his students proposed to celebrate his birthday as Teachers’ Day which was accepted for the contribution of teachers.
The day was started in 1949 by UNESCO. The festival is celebrated by the UNESCO and the International Labor Organization (ILO) to commemorate the anniversary of the 1979 recommendation of teachers related to the status of teachers. These recommendations set the standard for teachers’ rights, responsibilities, their employment terms and sustainable education. The main objective of World Teachers’ Day is to appreciate the actions of teachers around the world, draw attention to their problems and improve their role in the field of education. According to UNESCO, quality education cannot be obtained without the rightsable and trained teachers. This day is an opportunity to express gratitude to teachers for their inspiration and guidance and accept their contribution in the development of students.
