Police department has started an exercise to crack down on criminals who make illegal property due to smuggling of liquor. Illegal property of all liquor smugglers will be confiscated. 240 criminals from the state have been identified in the illegal liquor business. In this, a proposal related to confiscation of property of 76 criminals has been dedicated to the court. With the permission from the court, the process of seizure of their property will start. Regarding this matter, ADG (Alcohol Prohibition Unit) Amit Kumar Jain said that a proposal to confiscate the property of all the criminals is being submitted in the court. After 76 criminals, proposals related to the remaining criminals will also be sent soon.

This list has the highest number of liquor mafia and smugglers of Bihar, but it also includes the names of smugglers from other states. After the implementation of the new law in the country (BNS), there is a provision to confiscate illegal assets along with strict action against criminals who have deposited illegal property due to the crime. A special provision has been given to confiscate illegal property of criminals under Section 107 of BNS. In view of this, this campaign is being implemented.
The complete prohibition law in the state is applicable from 5 April 2016. From January to August this year, 29 thousand 903 people have been arrested on charges of illegal liquor smuggling, supplier, distributor and other scandal in violation of this law. This year 854 accused outside the state have also been arrested. In this, full details of illegal assets of many smugglers are being prepared, after which their property will be taken action related to seizure.
Apart from this, 305 wanted accused have also been identified for arrest from other states in liquor cases in the state. Its list has been sent to the concerned states. So that action can be taken on it. In September, 5 accused have been arrested by the team of alcoholism. The process of arrest of the rest is going on. Liquor smuggling in Bihar is the highest from Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Arunachal Pradesh. A letter has also been written to the DGP and Excise Commissioner of these states to take appropriate action.

In the current year 2025, 6 lakh 20 thousand 322 liters of illicit liquor has been seized from January to August. Its price is 72 crore 64 lakh rupees. This includes 12 thousand 515 liters of indigenous and 5 lakh 74 thousand 526 foreign liquor in addition to 77 thousand rupees. This is 16 percent more than the action taken against illegal liquor last year. Since the implementation of the liquor ban law in 2016, 2 crore 75 lakh 75 thousand 369 liters of liquor has been recovered so far. 97 percent of liquor has been destroyed in this.
