Ban on casteism, the historic step of the Yogi government

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has recently taken a historical and bold step. He has taken a understanding of not only caste -based hatred in the society but also to end the need to eliminate differentiation and make a understandable decision to strengthen everyone’s development with harmony. Under this decision, he has banned caste-based rallies, public demonstrations and caste references in police records. This decision was taken after the Allahabad High Court order, but its real importance is much more than that. This is not just an administrative initiative but a revolutionary effort to free the society from caste bonds. Political parties have divided the society to woo caste -based votes and bake rotis of political selfishness. It is to be noted that there has been a flood of caste-based organizations and rallies, which made many organizations of each caste and these caste organizations took to the streets and not only increased the distance between the public system, humans and human beings, but also disturbed national unity.

The roots of casteism are deep in Indian society. The caste system once worked as the basis of social identity and division of labor, but over time it became a cause of discrimination, inequality and social hatred. The Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi had said- “Casteism hollows out the soul of society.” Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar had described it as the biggest obstacle of Indian progress. Unfortunately, even after independence, casteism made deep inroads in both politics and society and worked to weaken the unity of the country. Caste-based politics changed the equations of power but worked to divide the society. At the time of elections, the selection of candidates was done on the basis of caste equations. This game of sharing of society became a challenge for the healthy ideals of democracy. Caste rallies and demonstrations continued to weaken social fabric. The mention of caste in the police records made the criminal not a criminal but a representative of any caste, which also adversely affected law and order. In these complex situations, this decision of the Yogi government is a new chapter towards ending inequalities and discrepancies. If it is implemented strictly and honestly, then surely an atmosphere of harmony, brotherhood and equality will be created in the society. Instead of caste-based identity, the person’s ability, conduct and contribution will be important.

In order to show attachment to any caste, it is also seen to be a wrong tradition of degrading another caste. Caste -based posters or symbols are being placed not only in the streets, houses but also on their vehicles. In such a situation, the feeling of mutual distinction, high and low is increasing. There has been a demand to eradicate such distinctions. People who are worried for the society want that caste flags and posters should be reinforced to an extent, but due to political interests, no politician has shown so far, but the Yogi government has shown this courage, then it should be welcomed. In the 10-point guidelines issued by the Yogi government, it is particularly worth noting that now vehicles with caste names, slogans or stickers will be challaned under the Central Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Even in the first information report, the caste will be avoided. So far it happens that criminals make their identity on the basis of caste and become stronger.

It is very regrettable that especially at the time of election, there is a flood of caste -based banners. Political parties and leaders get involved in dividing the society with caste equations. But now the intention of the UP government is commendable and these guidelines need to be fully implemented. In fact, it is unable to see the caste of the criminal to eradicate crime from society. Yes, it is given permission to mention caste carefully in some cases. For example, caste words will continue to be used in cases under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Indeed, there are some cases where caste anxiety or mention becomes necessary. It should not be forgotten that caste -based discrimination is still seen in many places. Complaints of discrimination of discrimination, especially on social media, often, the administration will have to be more vigilant. It is not only enough to issue instructions, but an honest initiative is also necessary to erase the points of caste discrimination. Social thinker Vinoba Bhave used to say, “If the distinction of caste disappears, then a sense of brotherhood and cooperation will flourish in the society.” In fact, casteism is not only a social problem but a disease of mindset. As long as the society continues to accept it, true development is not possible.

Yogi Adityanath appears committed to creating an ideal social system in Uttar Pradesh. He not only raised his voice against casteism, he also gave active training to the society with many examples of his political life. He is a nutritious of equality, so he attacked the tone of human unity by attacking the rage, practice and discrepancy of the caste with full power. The biggest feature of his rule has been that he gave priority to law and order, which led to a large extent on crime and anarchy in the state. Following the policy of “Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas-Sabka Vishwas”, he implemented several schemes for the upliftment of poor, farmers, youth and women. Their efforts are also notable in the development of infrastructure, revival of religious places, attracting investment and employment generation. The result of his positive thinking is that Uttar Pradesh is being counted in the developing states rapidly today and is moving out of the image of casteism, corruption and insecurity and moving forward with a new confidence. His latest initiative tells the society that the new generation should move forward on the basis of merit and morality, not caste. This decision is also a warning for political parties that they will have to leave the politics of caste equations and do politics of national interest and public interest.

Social and political disturbances arise from the item of caste, color, language etc., that is why it is a sin to increase the tradition of sin. Due to this, people have been moving forward by forgetting nationality and moving the caste parochials, after the people of one caste become strong, they are ready to go to any extent to benefit their caste. The perception has also increased that everyone should worry about their caste. The misconception is also spreading that only people or officers or leaders of their caste stand together in trouble of the community or people of their caste. The Yogi government has felt the need to overcome all such social and administrative flaws and irony. Should stand against the unjust without looking at the caste. The intention of the Constitution is that every citizen should move forward as the strength of his society and remember, this society should not be just a caste based. Every caste is important and everyone should develop, but the pretense of caste -based attachment or politics should end. This step of Yogi Adityanath government is a big opportunity to free Indian society from the chains of casteism. This can become an exemplary example not only for Uttar Pradesh, but for the whole country. Now it is necessary that other states also adopt it and make India the land of equality, justice and fraternity in true sense.
