Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Moroccan Defense Minister Abdelif Laudiyi today signed a memorandum of MoU on Defense Cooperation in Rabat. The two sides agreed on a wide roadmap to increase cooperation in terrorism, maritime security, cyber security, peace, installation, military medicine, training and industry partnerships. The two leaders decided to increase cooperation in the defense industry and agreed to a broad roadmap, including anti-terrorism, maritime security, cyber security, peace campaigns, military medicine and exchange of experts. The discussions between the two ministers reflect the shared resolution to further strengthen the long -term friendship between India and Morocco.

To speed up these initiatives, the Defense Minister announced the inauguration of a new Defense Wing at the Indian Embassy in Rabat. He also highlighted India’s defense industry’s maturity and drone and anti-drone techniques, including its state-of-the-art capabilities and assured the Morocco side that Indian companies are in good positions to meet the needs of Moroccan’s defense forces. The two ministers emphasized the importance of increasing the exchange between the armed forces, facilitating training programs and discovery of co-development and co-production opportunities in the defense sector. He also emphasized the need for multilateral cooperation to deal with global and regional security challenges and welcomed the close coordination in maritime security in view of the strategic importance of the Indian Ocean and Atlantic corridors.

The Defense Minister also gave a formal invitation to Mr. Lodiyi to come to India for further discussion on the expansion of defense cooperation. The meeting is an important milestone in bilateral defense relations, reflecting the increasing convergence of strategic interests between India and Morocco.
