Bagram Airbase of Afghanistan is once again in the news. US President Donald Trump has directly warned the Taliban that if Bagram airbase does not return us, the consequences will have to be suffered. But now the Taliban has also retaliated. Indeed, the Taliban has hit back on a statement by Donald Trump. Afghanistan Foreign Minister made it clear that we will not give even an inch of our land to the Americans. We will not give even a particle of our land to Americans, the airbase is far away. If needed, we will fight them for the next 20 years.

Hamidullah Pitrat, the Deputy Chairman of the Islamic Emirates, also reminded the Doha Agreement, saying that the United States had given up that it would not use any force against Afghanistan’s regional integrity and political freedom, that is, the army would not be launched. The Taliban’s message is clear that there will be no compromise on the independence of Afghanistan. America will have to adopt a consistent policy as much as the same. Mujahid said that Afghanistan’s foreign policy focuses on economic interests.

He urged all countries to establish relations on the basis of shared interests. A Taliban spokesperson said that the US has been told many times during all bilateral talks that Afghanistan’s independence and regional integrity are paramount.
Mujahid said that America should maintain its commitments. Mujahid did not answer the questions of the Associated Press about the conversation with the Trump administration regarding Bagram and the statement of Trump. In August last year, the Taliban celebrated the third anniversary of his occupation of Bagram, displaying American equipment. This performance attracted the attention of the White House. It should be remembered that under the Doha Agreement, the United States had pledged that it would not use or threaten force against the regional integrity or political freedom of Afghanistan, nor would it interfere in its internal affairs.

Bagram has become a strategic center for America due to proximity to China. Trump has claimed that it is one of the largest airports in the world and is capable of flying its 3,600 meter long runway cargo aircraft as well as bombing aircraft. Trump also said that China has control over the airport, although the Taliban has denied the allegation. This airbase was not only the center of Afghanistan’s military and political balance. Rather its geographical location is considered very important to monitor China, Russia, Iran and Central Asia.
