In Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, a person died after a car fell into the Ravi river late Saturday while a girl was swept away in the river. Police gave this information. Police said that two persons were also injured in the accident, which took place near Parel village on the Chamba-Pathankot road at around 2.30 pm.
According to the police, Akhilesh, resident of Hamirpur, Rishant, resident of Shimla, Divyansh, resident of Solan and Ishika-resident of Shimla, Ishika- were trainees at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College in Chamba. At night, these people were traveling together and on the way the driver lost his control over the vehicle, due to which the car fell into the Ravi river.
Police said Akhilesh died in the accident while Ishika was swept away in the river. Police said Risant and Divyansh were injured. Police said that after receiving information about the incident, the police personnel who reached the spot took out the injured and the body has also been recovered.
Police said that the police have launched a joint operation with the district administration to find Ishika. Chamba Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhishek Yadav said that investigation has been started to find out the cause of the incident.
