Is the biggest loot in Tirupati temple? BJP makes serious allegations against YSRCP government

A major controversy has come to light in Andhra Pradesh, in which the Bharatiya Janata Party has accused the YSR Congress government of theft of over Rs 100 crore from the Parakamani (Danpeti) of the Tirupati temple. BJP leader and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) member Bhanu Prakash Reddy claimed that it was the ‘biggest loot’ in the history of TTD during YSR Congress rule (2019-2024).
CCTV footage and connection with Tadepalli Palace
Reddy issued CCTV footage in support of the allegations, saying that the temple employee Ravikumar stole cash from Danpeti. He alleged that this looted money was invested in real estate and a part of it was sent directly to former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s residence, Tadepalli Palace.
The BJP leader also alleged that many senior leaders and top officials of YSR Congress were involved in the scam. He said that a police officer was also working with the intention of robbing the property of Tirupati temple. Reddy claimed that the matter was first resolved through Lok Adalat and important evidence related to the scam has also been destroyed.

High court ordered inquiry
Bhanu Prakash Reddy said that the High Court, taking the matter seriously, has handed over the investigation to the CID. The court has ordered the CID to complete the investigation within a month and submit the report in a sealed envelope. In addition, board decisions and related documents have also been directed to be confiscated. Reddy has also sought a response from the then TTD president Bhumana Karunakar Reddy on his allegations.
