Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel said on Saturday that knowledge is the same which gives us self -power by freeing ignorance, fear and shackles. The third convocation of Maa Shakumbhari University (Saharanpur) was held on Saturday under the chairmanship of Governor and State Universities Chancellor Anandiben Patel.
In his address, the Governor said, “Knowledge is the one who frees us from ignorance, fear and shackles and gives self -power.” He said that this is not only a celebration of degrees, but is a resolve to contribute to our loyalty, discovery of truth and purposeful contribution in life.
Patel said that being a true Indian does not only mean pride in its past, but also to dedicate that knowledge and tradition in its life and dedicate it to the development of society and nation.
He said, “When we talk about education, we should proudly say that India is touching new heights on the world stage today. India has made five times the world rankings with only 11 universities in the year 2014, today has made five times progress with 54 universities. This achievement is a proof of educational reforms implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
According to an official statement, a total of 24,875 degrees were awarded to the students by the Governor on this occasion, out of which 66 percent of the degrees were received by the students and 34 percent of the degrees. Out of a total of 90 medals, 66 medals (73 percent) students and 24 medals (27 percent) were received by students.
Addressing the convocation ceremony, the Chancellor said that this figure is not just a number, but a sign of the bright future in which students are setting new examples of education, leadership and self -reliance.
