Pakistan on Sunday canceled its pre-match press conference before the Super Force match of the ongoing Asia Cup against India. This continues the same trend that was seen before his previous match against the UAE. A Pakistan player or member of the coaching staff was scheduled to hold a press conference at 6 pm on Saturday (local time). Men in Green was also to impart training from 6 pm to three hours at the ICC Academy of Dubai. According to ESPNcricinfo, despite the cancellation of the press conference, Pakistan will continue the prescribed training session.

Currently, Pakistan’s reason for cancellation of press conference is not clear. This is another example in many sports when Pakistan has canceled traditional pre-match duties. Pakistan refused to hold a press conference against the UAE earlier this week before its do or die match. The development came after the Pycroft’s decision, which was at the center of controversy to join hands in the match between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup on 14 September. He was appointed a match referee for a super four match between the two teams in Dubai on Sunday.
ESPNcricinfo reported that Picroft, who was a match referee in Pakistan’s final group phase match against the United Arab Emirates, will also hold the post in his hot match against arch -rivals India. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had demanded immediate removal of Pycroft after a 7 -wicket defeat against India. According to the Pakistan Board, Pycroft had asked captains Salman Aga and Suryakumar Yadav not to join hands during the toss in the group stage.

The matter worsened after the International Cricket Council (ICC) not considering the PCB petition and the former Zimbabwe Cricketer stopped. However, the dispute spread to a tax or dying match against the UAE of Pakistan. After canceling the press conference before the match, Pakistan reached the Dubai International Stadium late and the match started with an hourly delay. Pakistani players were asked to stay at the hotel, while the PCB officials were engaged in secret talks with the ICC.
