Patna. Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar honored the Hero Asia Cup, 2025 winner at the honor ceremony held at the ‘Samvad’ at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat today, with the players, chief instructors, assistant instructors of the winner of the winner of Rs 10 lakh and support staff to the support staff by giving them Rs 5-5 lakh. During the program, the Chief Minister provided a symbolic check of Rs 2 crore 50 lakh for players and associate staff to the captain of the Indian hockey team, Mr. Harmanpreet Singh. The Chief Minister congratulated all the players, chief instructors, assistant instructors, support staff of the Indian team for the victory and wished them a bright future. The Chief Minister also took group photographs with all the players.

It is known that the Men’s Hockey Asia Cup competition-2025 was organized from 29 August to 07 September at the Hockey Stadium of Rajgir Sports Complex, Rajgir’s Hockey Stadium. 8 major Asian teams from China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Chinese Taipei, Bangladesh and India participated in this competition respectively. The logo and mascot of this competition were unveiled by Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar on August 17, 2025. After this, the Chief Minister launched this competition on 29.08.2025 in Rajgir. In this sports competition held in Rajgir, India’s men’s hockey team won by defeating South Korea in the final. Soon after this victory, the Chief Minister had announced a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh to 20 players of the Indian hockey team and Rs 5-5 lakh to 10 associate staff. Earlier, the Indian women’s hockey team was also awarded the prize money by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for winning the Asia Cup held in Rajgir.
At the beginning of the program, the Chief Minister was welcomed by Hockey India General Secretary Mr. Bhola Nath Singh by presenting a logo. During the program, Indian hockey team captain Mr. Harman Preet Singh said that I thank Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar ji for this honor. We all express our gratitude for Shri Nitish Kumar’s love and attachment to the game. The people of Bihar have passion for hockey game, it has been felt by us.
