Manthan 2025 | 61 cobsters of the country will be rejuvenated, Rajnath Singh emphasized on smart development

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh insisted on developing Cantonment Boards as smart, green and sustainable urban ecosystems at the ‘Manthan 2025’ conference. He called for modernization from IDES, enhancing digital services and ensuring civil participation and creating transparent and accountable institutions so that cantonments could be converted into modern cities.Singh was addressing the two -day national conference ‘Manthan 2025’ organized by the Directorate General of Defense Estates (DGDE) on Thursday.

The Defense Minister called upon the Indian Defense Estate Service (IDES) to work hard for the modernization of the Cantonment Board. Singh praised the IDES officers for successfully fulfilling the double responsibility of managing more than 18 lakh acres of defense land and the welfare of citizens living in 61 cantonments across India.

He also stressed the need to develop cantonments like modern cities by continuously upgrading systems and procedures. He said, “Digital services will have to be increased so that people can get services in a transparent manner and time.”

The Defense Minister said, “We have to increase the participation of citizens so that residents can become partners in the future planning of the cantonment. We have to convert the Cantonment Board into modern, transparent and accountable institutions that can provide services according to the demands of the hour. “He said,” It is our collective responsibility to ensure that people living in the cantonment have the best civilian facilities and quick grievance redressal mechanisms.
