In Manipur, security forces have recovered a cache of weapons from three hill districts during the campaign for the last few days. The police gave this information on Thursday.
According to the police, the security forces took action on specific intelligence information and campaigned simultaneously at several places in the interiors of Chudachandpur, Chandel and Tenganaupal districts.
Police said 11 pistols, 37 single barrel rifles, two rifles of Point 303 and one M-16, MA-1, MK-2 INSAS, carbine and double barrel rifle were recovered during the operation.
He said that during the campaign, three bombs and 28 Pompei (local mortar) as well as 57 arms and ammunition and 23 radio sets were also recovered.
