Encounter in Sukma, a prize woman Naxalite worth Rs 5 lakh

On Thursday, a female Naxalite of Rs 5 lakh was killed in an encounter with security forces in Sukma, Chhattisgarh. PTI quoted the police as saying that this Naxalite named Busky Nuppo was wanted in many violent incidents. According to officials, an encounter started in the morning on a wild hill located between Guardi and Permapara villages under Gadiras police station area. A team of District Reserve Guard (DRG), a special unit of the state police, was conducting a search operation based on the intelligence of the presence of Naxalites in the area.

The accused was wanted in nine cases

After the encounter ended, security personnel recovered the body of 35 -year -old Nuppo. She was a member of the Maoists’ Malangir region committee and was wanted in nine serious Naxal cases spread in three police stations of Sukma and Dantewada districts. Police also recovered a 315 bore rifle, five cartridges, a wireless set, eight detonators, about 10 meter cordex wire, four gelatin rods, gunpowder, a radio, Maoist literature and other items from the encounter site.

12 Naxalites surrendered in Narayanpur

A day earlier, twelve Naxalites surrendered in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh, in which a total reward of Rs 18 lakh was declared on nine Naxalites. These also included five women. According to Narayanpur Superintendent of Police Robinson Guria, he surrendered to senior police officers and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) officials. Members surrendered said that they are disappointed with the hollow ideology of the Maoists, upset with violence against innocent tribals, and upset with the growing internal conflicts within the restricted group.
