In view of the upcoming festive season, Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) has announced to start a special bus service for the convenience of passengers. The service will start from September 20, in which buses will be operated daily for states like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Haryana, and West Bengal. The corporation started booking online tickets from 1 September and now a detailed time table of buses has also been released.

Most 65 buses for Delhi
In view of the huge demand for the Delhi route in the festive season, the corporation has decided to operate 65 buses on this route. These buses will leave for Patna, Muzaffarpur, Purnia, Gaya, and Darbhanga from 2 pm and 8 pm to Anand Vihar in Delhi.
30 buses for Bihar-Haryana
Special arrangements have been made for 30 buses for passengers going to Haryana. These buses will be of AC seater and sleeper category, which will give passengers a comfortable and convenient journey experience.
Time table of other major routes
• Kolkata-Patna: Buses on this route will be available at 6 pm, 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm.
• Ghaziabad: Non-AC seater bus from Ghaziabad to Patna will leave at 2 pm and from Patna to Ghaziabad at 4 pm.
• Delhi-Gawaji: Buses from Delhi will leave at 1:30 pm, 4 pm, and 9 pm. Buses from Gaya to Delhi will be available at 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm.
• Kolkata-Gawaji: Buses on this route will operate between 4 pm and 9 pm.
• Delhi-Purnia: The bus from Delhi to Purnia will leave at 1 pm, while Purnia will leave for Delhi at 11 am.
Subsidies of Rs 24 crore to passengers
The state government has announced special subsidy for passengers and bus operators. A seat subsidy of Rs 24 crore will be given to passengers and Rs 36 crore 35 lakh to bus drivers.
Subsidy on rent for Patna-Delhi route:
• AC Bus: Total fare Rs 1,873, in which passengers will pay Rs 1,254 and the government will give a subsidy of Rs 619.
• Non-AC bus: Total fare Rs 1,527, in which passengers will pay Rs 1,133 and the government will bear a subsidy of Rs 394.
• AC Sleeper Bus: Total fare Rs 2,812, in which passengers will pay Rs 1,893 and the government will give a subsidy of Rs 919.

Special facilities for passengers
BSRTC has fixed the fare for the convenience of passengers returning home in festivals, so that private bus operators cannot recover arbitrary fare. All buses will have the facility of digital payment through UPI, Debit Card and Net Banking. This will provide safe and cheap travel to migrant workers and Biharis who return home on festivals like Durgapuja, Deepawali and Chhath between September 20 and 30 November 2025.
