His remarks came after a letter written by Rahul Gandhi to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking a comprehensive relief package for Punjab. The letter said that the state has suffered an estimated loss of Rs 20,000 crore due to floods and more than 1 million animals have been killed. Citing the figures of the Punjab government, the BJP leader claimed that instead of more than 10 lakhs, only 34,000 animals have been killed and the state had lost Rs 13,289 crore, not Rs 20,000 crore.

Malaviya posted on X that Rahul Gandhi’s bundle of lies. In his letter to the Prime Minister, he has claimed that 1 million animals have been killed. But Punjab’s Animal Husbandry Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudis (7 September) described the figure of 19,041 (including chicken), which is now said to be around 34,000. Where did the missing 9.44 lakh animals go? The Chief Secretary of Punjab told the Prime Minister that the loss of the state is ₹ 13,289 crore. Rahul Gandhi is exaggerating it as ₹ 20,000 crore. Why this deliberately lie? While the central government is giving full help to the flood -affected Punjab, Rahul Gandhi is busy in making Punjabis a political pawn. Why should the pain of Punjab used to be used for trivial politics?

He said that the state has suffered an estimated loss of at least Rs 20,000 crore due to floods and initial relief of Rs 1,600 crore declared by the central government is “gross injustice” to the people of the state.
Yet another pack of lies from Rahul Gandhi.
In his letter to the Prime Minister, he claims 10 lakh animals have perished. But Punjab’s Animal Husbandry Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian (Sept 7) put the figure at 19,041 (including poultry), now reportedly about 34,000. Where did… pic.twitter.com/GcMFvGg4as
