Uttarakhand: Cloud burst in Chamoli, 10 people missing in sudden floods; CM Dhami worried

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Thursday that he was personally monitoring the situation after a cloudburst in Chamoli district. At least 10 people have gone missing in this incident and houses in the area have suffered a lot of damage. A cloudburst incident occurred late on Wednesday night in Nandanagar Ghat area of ​​Chamoli, causing a sudden flood and debris, which buried several residential buildings. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local police and district administration teams were immediately deployed to conduct search and rescue operations in the affected area.

In a post on social media platform x, CM Dhami wrote, “Sad news has been received that nearby houses have been damaged due to heavy rains in Nandan Nagar Ghat area of ​​Chamoli district. Local administration, SDRF and police teams have reached the spot immediately and are engaged in relief and rescue operations. In this regard, I am in constant contact with administration and I am strictly seen to the situation.”

According to officials, Kuntari Lagi Pali is still missing eight people from village and two people of Dhurma village. Vinod Kumar told ANI that there is a cloud in a village at a place called Nanda Nagar Ghat in Chamoli district. Meanwhile, officials said that at least ten people have gone missing due to cloudburst in Nanda Nagar Ghat area of ​​Chamoli district of Uttarakhand on Wednesday night, causing heavy destruction and damage to many houses. According to preliminary reports, no casualties were reported. The water level of Moksha river has also increased. According to the district administration, the incident occurred in the Kuntari Laga ward of Nanda Nagar area, where six residential buildings were buried in the rubble after cloudburst and heavy rains.
