Haryana Chief Minister launched ‘Mukhyamantri Vishwakarma Samman Yojana’

Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini launched the ‘Mukhyamantri Vishwakarma Samman Yojana’ on Wednesday. Under this, the artisans of the state receiving skill training through ‘Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana’ will get an additional incentive of five thousand rupees.

The Chief Minister made this announcement while addressing a state level function organized on Wednesday in Rohtak on the occasion of Lord Vishwakarma Jayanti. Saini said that today is a happy coincidence of Lord Vishwakarma’s birth anniversary and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. He described Prime Minister Modi as the creator of ‘New India’ in the 21st century.

He paid homage to Lord Vishwakarma on behalf of 2.75 crore people of Haryana and greeted the Prime Minister on the 75th birthday. Paying tribute to Lord Vishwakarma, the Chief Minister said that this day is dedicated to honoring those hardworking, honest and hard working workers who are shaping the progress of the nation with their dedication.

According to an official statement, Saini said that today’s artisans are facing many challenges such as rising costs, rapidly changing design, limited market access and loan requirement.

Keeping these issues in mind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana under which skill training, daily allowance of Rs 500 during training and ‘tool kit’ for artisans are provided.

The Chief Minister said that 41,366 applicants have registered under this scheme in the state. Out of these, 30,655 artisans have completed skill training and about 12 thousand have been provided ‘Tool kit’. Apart from this, loans of Rs 56 crore have been distributed to six thousand artisans. The Center launched the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana two years ago.
