The European Commission has introduced plans to increase cooperation with India in areas such as defense, technology and trade. The European Union and India are in the final stages of dialogue on a free trade agreement, which they want to complete by the end of this year. The re -beginning negotiations in 2022 have gained momentum since US President Donald Trump was re -elected. Facing the tariff of Trump, both sides have accelerated efforts to form new alliances. For Brussels, it means planned trade agreements with Mexico, South American block Mercosur, India and Indonesia. India is seeing possibilities in the European Union, as well as in China and Russia.

India has increased the purchase of Russian oil since Russia’s complete invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
