The annual session of the United Nations General Assembly has always been a platform for diplomacy and strength-granization. This time the interesting thing is that Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Army President Aseem Munir are scheduled to meet US President Donald Trump. Munir has already held a lunch meeting with Trump, so it will be a second direct meeting between the two. This opportunity for Pakistani establishment will not only “reset” relations with the US, but will also try to renew its strategy to renew its strategy.
The biggest importance of Munir and Sharif’s meeting with Trump is that Pakistan wants to find space for itself in American politics. Pakistan is trying to present itself as a “important ally” between the growing American mistrust on China and the upheaval of West Asia. In addition, this meeting also underlines the traditional role of the Pakistani Army – being decisive in both politics and foreign policy.

Meanwhile, the recent statement of Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has approved an important truth. He has clearly stated that any issue between India and Pakistan is bilateral and India does not accept the mediation of any third party. This is the same stance that India has been repeating for decades. Let us remind you that recently Trump claimed several times that he had a ceasefire between Indo-Pak, but now Pakistan itself is saying that such claims have no reality. Actually, it is a victory of India’s diplomatic perseverance and is also a sign of Pakistan’s compulsion.
On the other hand, the commander of Jaish-e-Mohammed to accept that Masood Azhar’s family in the Indian missile attacks became “pieces”, is a direct proof of India’s security ability and political will. Operation Sindoor hurt the terrorist structure within Pakistan and the terrorist groups are now forced to openly accept their loss. This message has not only been within Pakistan, but also to the international fraternity that India is no longer a defensive nation, but is able to take decisive and punitive action.
If seen, there are three clear conclusions from the combination of these events – first, Pakistan wants to maintain its strategic relevance by taking shelter of America; Second, this situation of India is now internationally acceptable that there is no scope for a third in bilateral issues; And third, India’s military action has proved that the hideouts of terrorism are no longer safe. Amidst all this, the basic message of the policy of the Modi government is that India will neither accept the pressure of third party nor spare terrorists.
