Sonia-Rahul met Mauritius PM, intense discussion on shared culture and relationships

Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) president Sonia Gandhi and senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi met Mauritius Prime Minister Naveen Chandra Ramgulam in the national capital on Tuesday. The meeting took place during the official visit of Mauritius. During the meeting, the two sides confirmed relations between India and Mauritius. Rahul Gandhi said in a post on Facebook, “With CPP President Smt. Sonia Gandhi, I got the privilege of meeting the Prime Minister of Mauritius Republic of Dr. Naveen Chandra Ramgulam. We talked about deep and permanent friendship connecting both countries and people.”

Prime Minister Ramgulam is currently on an official visit to India from 9 September to 16 September, during which he is participating in many political, cultural and spiritual programs. Earlier, President Draupadi Murmu met the Prime Minister of Mauritius at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where the two leaders emphasized unique and permanent bilateral relations between New Delhi and Port Louis. In a post published on X by Rashtrapati Bhavan, the two leaders accepted the relationship between the two countries, which lies in their shared history, language, culture and values. President Murmu expressed confidence in the leadership experience of Prime Minister Ramgulam and said that these relationships would be even stronger in future.
