Property registration in the name of more than 23 lakh women in five years in Bihar

A new history is being created in Bihar to empower women and girls. In the last five years (2020-2025), 23 lakh 29 thousand 869 women and girls have been registered in the name of immovable properties i.e. land-property or flat. These include 29 thousand 879 minor girls. This step is not only strengthening women financially. Rather, they are also making them feel self -reliant.

According to the data from the Department of Alcohol, Products and Registration, these assets mainly include land, houses and flats. With this, the government has received 333 billion 52 crore 95 lakh stamp duty and more than Rs 21 billion 31 crore 74 lakhs.

Increasing empowerment from year to year

The number of property registration in the name of women and girls has seen an increase every year.

2020-21: This year, property registration has been done in the name of 3 lakh 37 thousand 850 women and girls, of which 5,332 are minor girls. These include 3 lakh 33 thousand 33 land, 3,258 houses, 530 houses and 1,049 flats.

2021-22: property has been recorded in the names of 4 lakh 15 thousand 653 women and girls, of which 6,044 were minors. During this period, 4 lakh 9 thousand 514 land, houses with 4,294 land, 1,088 houses and 757 flats have been registered.

2022-23: property was recorded in the name of 5 lakh 24 thousand 439 women and girls, of which 7,051 were minors. This year, 5 lakh 17 thousand 594 land, houses with 4,849 land, 821 houses and 1,175 flats have been registered.

2023-24: This year 4 lakh 68 thousand 770 women and girls were essayed in the name of real estate, of which 5,809 were minors. This includes 4 lakh 61 thousand 503 land, houses with 5,211 land, 1,073 houses and 983 flats.

2024-25: A record 5 lakh 83 thousand 157 women and girls have property registration, of which 5,643 were minors. This year 5 lakh 73 thousand 296 land, houses with 4,857 lands, 3,543 houses and 1,461 flats have been registered.

The highest registration of land has been done in these five years. After this, the number of registration of houses, houses and flats with land has been recorded. Department officials said that in the last few years, property trends have been seen in women from both rural and urban areas. They feel financial freedom and security due to property registration in the name of women. This enables them to control their financial future.

Benefits of property registration for women

The exemption given by the government in stamp duty and property tax is encouraging the participation of women in this direction. Registration in the name of women is charged 7.6 percent in place of 8 percent.
