America, South Korea and Japan started air and naval exercises

The United States, South Korea and Japan started air and naval exercises near an island in South Korea on Monday. At the same time, North Korea condemned this joint exercise and described it as “careless power display”.

The Ministry of Defense of South Korea said that this exercise called ‘Freedom Age’ is being done with the aim of strengthening the combined oriental capacity of the three countries in the sea, air and cyber sector. It is necessary to combat North Korea’s growing atomic and missile threats.

The US Indo-Pacific Command reported that the exercise would include American Marines and Air Force aerial equipment and will be trained in advanced ballistic missiles and air-defense exercises, medical withdrawal and marine operations. It has been described as the most advanced tripartite defense cooperation exercise.

The exercise will run till Friday near the Southern Jeju Island in South Korea. Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un criticized these exercises in the government media. He said that “This careless power performed around North Korea will eventually bring bad results for him.
